Stand back the girl is on a roll!

Emma has taken a few more momentous steps in just the past few days. She is now on a nasal canula (pronglike breathing thingy that goes in her nostrils, she will go home on one of those) and she breastfed from me this evening for the first time! We were just getting over the fact that she graduated off the CPAP so quickly (it was just a week ago she was extubated) and now to have her breastfeeding is amazing. She took to it like a fish to water. The minute she was put in front of me, chomp, she was off and sucking! She actually breastfed for about 30 minutes too! We are just starting so it will probably be just a few times a day from me and the rest she will still get via a tube. We got so caught up in the moment that we didn't take a picture. Hopefully we will add some new ones soon. John even got a little burp out of her after she was done breastfeeding. It was music to our ears! We are so proud of her. What a way to celebrate her 3 month birthday!
